
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, Becky Gropp Hochhalter is a self-taught, lifelong artist who has been creating art since childhood.
For 35 years, Becky has worked in art related fields including freelance fine art, advertising, computer graphics and packaging. This wealth of experience includes 17 years with a Fortune 500 flexible packaging company where she gained valuable experience including managing large-scale projects and working with high profile customers nationwide.
Becky has also worked in a diverse range of mediums including murals, traditional commissioned paintings and drawings, digital paintings and illustrations, photography and, most recently, sculptures. She enjoys lending a creative eye to collaborative efforts, and has boundless ideas for expressing her artistic ability.
One of Becky's most notable recent works in 2020 included being selected to create artwork for the Welcome Race Fans campaign for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in conjunction with the Indy Arts Council. This artwork was used for a nine-story projection on the Indianapolis Power and Light building on Monument Circle in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as on billboards and posters in the area for the IMS racing season from the Indianapolis 500 to the Brickyard 400. Other recent works from 2020 included two illustrated children’s books, and three mural panels for the Key Bank building in Noblesville, Indiana.
Upcoming projects for 2021 include a 144 sq. ft. mural for J. Ford’s Black Angus in Terre Haute, Indiana, a 1,215 sq. ft. mural for the City of Fishers, Indiana, a 2,553 sq. ft. mural in downtown Terre Haute, Indiana, a 96 sq. ft. mural for the Indy Arts Fest in Indianapolis, Indiana, and numerous private commissions.
